My Nitro 5/Predator laptop battery drains even while plugged in during gaming. Is this normal?

To an extent, yes. This is called "Power Discharge." High-performance gaming can sometimes pull more power than the AC adapter provides alone, so the system taps into the battery. Ensure you are using the original high-wattage charger and that "High Performance" mode is active.
